I never put my birthday on the profile of online social networks (OSN) I joined in. There are like five different OSN: Friendster, Multiply, Facebook, Blogspot, and Twitter. And mostly the main reason of my-joining is social persuasion. Hihihi... Not trying to blame others, but... here's the bigger picture: all of my friends joined the OSN, and made friends with the actual friends in actual world in OSN also, plus they made new friends from the OSN, anddddddd this is the worst part, they talked about it all the time. Like it or not, I had to join the OSN to keep up with the recent topic talked. Hihihihihihi...
And to the very beginning, I joined Friendster. Which became a huge trend when I was in high school. First, I didn't like it. I even lost my password twice, but later on, and also due to my shallow high school perspective, I enjoyed when it comes to adding-cute-guys-as-friends-though-I-didn't-know-who-that-person-was. Who knows, maybe he's a total psycho? *LOL*
At the Friendster era, I tended to confirm strangers as friends, including those we used to refer as ALAY (sorry, dudes!). And that's why I didn't put my birthday (Did I???).
When the Facebook Era came, I embraced Facebook and left Friendster. There, I made my profile private. Filtered everyone who added me as a friend, deleting several people from the friend list (because it turned out that they were annoying and I didn't know who they were), and did not post my birthday on my profile. And therefore, no one (except my close friends) had ever birthday-greeted me on Facebook.
Well, until my birthday due this year. It was when Dina asked me why didn't my birthday reminder showed up on her homepage. I explained, and then she tagged me in her status. I guess that was the point where people notice my birthday and started to birthday-greeted me on Facebook. And then I thought...
Why didn't I try to put my birthday on the profile?
Well, just a little test to see if someone figured out my birthday and care enough to birthday-greet me. Hihihi... I did, and the result was I got heaps of birthday-greet, and what makes the birthday-greet even better, all of them were from the people I know in real life. I know, it might sounds a lot cheezy for you, but for me, it's... somewhat worthy :). And so here are the people I would love to thank for birthday-greeted me and wished me good things (all of them are listed in order of the posting):
The greetings were from junior high school, high school, university, T**** TV, and peeps from The Big City. Least were from my family. Who cares.
Anyway, thank you very much for all the greetings, wishes, and blessings, peeps! And I replied all the birthday-greet one by one on their profile page instead of posting a-thank-you-status. I think it is more elegant... and sophisticated! Hihihihihihihi...

"I'm nothing special, in fact, I'm a bit of a bore
If I tell a joke, you've probably heard it before
But I have a talent, a wonderful thing
I am so lucky, I am the girl with golden hair
I wanna sing it out to everybody
What a joy, what a life, what a chance!"
Thank You For The Music
